A look around is so heartbreaking.
The world is showing open cracks
that have been always in front of us.
These cracks are coming closer to home.
The younger generation is experimenting
with a new, addictive high
that is known as the silent killer
after just one dose of the tablet.
Future leaders taken
during a permanent escape
from their every day lives.
The loss is heartbreaking.
Masked men covered in a dark hoodie
are taking from honest people.
They are stripping the livelihood
from the mouth of honest business.
Striking fear in the unsuspecting workers
who are there trying to make ends meet
only to be brought to fear by a mask.
The theft by neighbours is heartbreaking.
A so-called leader sits in a courtroom,
accused of using his powers of persuasion
on the innocent minds of young children.
Taking their bodies for abuse
to make themselves feel powerful.
It would never have been known
if it were not for the strong ones voices.
As I grow older, I see more
of the crime that is so close to home
that was either not there
or was ignored by my eyes.
A little life is taken out of me
as each day of news passes.
